TEXAS COLLEGE EMPHASIZES VOTING IMPORTANCE

VOTE COMMON GOOD'S REV. DR. MICHAEL WATERS SPEAKS AT THE "THE POP UP & POP OUT VOTER EXPERIENCE" VOTER REGISTRATION DRIVE AT THE TEXAS COLLEGE CAMPUS

Texas College continues to emphasize the importance of exercising the right to vote through "The Pop Up & Pop Out Voter Experience" voter registration drive. To elevate the activity and create a more engaging atmosphere, the College collaborated with Vote Common Good, a faith-based national touring organization that focuses on inspiring, energizing, and mobilizing people of faith to register to vote and, congruently, encouraging voters to make the common good their voting criteria, instead of self-interest or partisan interest alone. The activity undoubtedly inspired and energized the Texas College Family for the 2024 election. The drive began with an impactful speech from Rev. Dr. Michael PAGE 35| THE INSIDER

Waters, Vote for Common Good representative, which emphasized the importance of the election, as well as highlighted historical contexts to illustrate why individuals must exercise their right to vote. Following Rev. Dr. Waters' presentation, President Dwight J. Fennell also made powerful remarks. Dr. Fennell echoed the sentiments of Rev. Dr. Waters and stressed the importance of an individual's vote, as well as emphasized that the election of a candidate directly impacts their day to-day lives in a multitude of ways, inclusive of their educational journeys and careers futuristically.
