NEW TCAA PRESIDENT
Now retired, Smith Jackson was an accomplished multifaceted higher education professional with a proven record of success in executive leadership and administration, evidenced by her more than 25 years of service to Florida Memorial University. Aside from her professional experiences, she has faithfully served TCAA notably as the South Florida Chapter President, as well as the Committee Chairperson for both Marketing and the Last Mile Scholarship. As the South Florida Chapter President, she led a multitude of successful initiatives that yielded substantially increased membership and financial giving to Texas College. And, in 2022 she was voted the TCAA Outstanding Alumna. As the new TCAA President, Smith Jackson's vision is to grow the Association by utilizing strong capacity building to take TCAA to the next level of operational, programmatic, technological, financial, and organizational maturity to effectively and efficiently advance the TCAA mission through measurable outcomes. As a champion of building new chapters across the U.S., she is also committed to maximizing the potential of each local chapter. Smith Jackson’s previous, current, and future work for the betterment of Texas College is a personification of the lyric “my love for you will forever be true.”

Texas College is pleased to advise that the Texas College Alumni & Ex-Students Association (TCAA) has elected Athena Smith Jackson as the new TCAA President. Athena Smith Jackson is a 1978 Cum Laude graduate of Texas College, where she majored in Social Science, and is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Following her graduation from Texas College, she earned the Master of Science degree in Public Administration, as well as a certification as a Certified Trainer in Human Resource Development and Training.
