STEERS SECURE SIX

THE TEXAS COLLEGE STEER FOOTBALL TEAM ENTERS CLYDE-PERKINS STADIUM FOR THEIR HOME OPENER AGAINST WESTGATE CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY IN TYLER, TEXAS

Texas College Steer Football has “turned the corner” this season. Currently sitting at 6-3, the Steers continue to emerge victorious. The 2024 season began in Fayette, Missouri, to face off against the Central Methodist University Eagles at Davis Field, in which they secured a 26-15 season opening win. The Steers would remain undefeated after their week two game with a decisive 54-3 win at home against Westgate Christian University. However, they evened out the win-loss column, dropping the next two games on the road against Ottawa University Arizona and Langston University. However, the Steers would not allow those losses to deter them, winning the following game against North American University (NAU) 25-21.

Texas College’s win against NAU initiated an exciting four-game win streak, defeating Arkansas Baptist College at Homecoming, followed by a nail-biting 40-34 overtime win on the road against Louisiana Christian University, and then another victory at home against Oklahoma Panhandle State University, which secured their sixth win on the season. This win is notable, as it cements their first above .500 season in recent years. The Steers recently fell to Texas Wesleyan, but have two games remaining with plans to finish the season victorious.
